General FAQ

Question What is CBD?
AnswerCBD stands for cannabidiol. This chemical compound is one of many cannabinoids found naturally in the cannabis sativa plant. CBD is absorbed through the Endocannabinoid System which regulates the body’s sleep cycles, immune response, emotional response, memory, pain, etc. CBD is a naturally occurring compound that has many benefits, but it will not get you high.
Question Is CBD legal in my state?
AnswerAfter the passage of the 2018 Farm Bill, hemp-extracted CBD is legal at the federal level as long as it contains 0.3% THC or less. However, many states have put restrictions on buyers that may require you to have a prescription or other requirements. These rules are being reviewed all over the country and may have changed since last you checked. If you are unsure what rules your state may have, we recommend checking the “.gov” page for your state for the most up-to-date information.
Question What are cannabinoids?
AnswerCannabinoids are a group of chemical compounds that are found naturally in the cannabis sativa plant. These cannabinoids interact with receptors in the brain and body found within the Endocannabinoid System. Cannabinoids can also originate within the body (endocannabinoids), from plants (phytocannabinoids) and be made synthetically.
Question What is the Endocannabinoid System?
AnswerThe Endocannabinoid System (ECS) is a system of receptors in the body that respond to chemical compounds known as cannabinoids. Studies have shown these naturally-occurring compounds (such as anandamide which plays a role in pain, depression, appetite, memory, and fertility) and their receptors exist in virtually every cell and organ system in the human body. Together the ECS plays a key role in regulating homeostasis and balance.
The Endocannabinoid System helps to regulate our sleep cycles, immune response, emotional response, memory and pain. When there is a deficiency in the ECS network, these systems become out of balance triggering stress, anxiety, loss of appetite, lack of sleep and any number of challenges to activities of daily life. Plant-based cannabinoids such as hemp-extracted CBD oils are an all-natural way to supplement these chemical deficiencies, without any feelings of being high, and help to restore the ECS system to balance and homeostasis.
Question What are terpenes?
AnswerStudies have shown there is a huge benefit of terpenes and their ability to improve the effectiveness of cannabidiol (CBD) in the body. Terpenes (terpenoids) are volatile, aromatic molecules that give CBD oils that earthy smell and taste. There are over 200 different terpenes that have been identified in the cannabis sativa plant alone. Because the flavor of these invaluable ingredients may not be everyone’s cup of tea, we have several products with all-natural added flavors to please the palate and enhance the experience.
Question What is THC?
AnswerTHC is short for tetrahydrocannabinol. This is the chemical responsible for most of marijuana’s psychoactive effects and feelings of being “high.” CBD products can not contain more than 0.3% THC to be legal at the federal level in the United States. We offer several products with 0.3% THC or THC free depending on your needs.
Question What is the difference between CBD oil and Hemp Oil?
AnswerThe primary difference between CBD oil and Hemp oil is what part of the plant the oil is extracted from and the chemical compounds found within the oil itself. Hemp oil usually refers to oil that has been extracted or pressed from hemp seeds (hemp seed oil). It contains a wealth of healthy vitamins, nutrients, antioxidants and fatty acids. CBD oil, on the other hand, is extracted from the flower and stalk of the hemp plant. This type of oil contains a full spectrum of cannabinoids that interact with the body’s Endocannabinoid System, which regulates the body’s sleep, emotions, appetite & more. For a complete analysis on the exact concentration of cannabinoids found in our products, use our COA Lookup Tool. Find your unique Certificate of Analysis Report generated by 3rd party testing labs so you can feel safe and confident in every serving of Jute Health products.
Question What is the difference between industrial hemp and marijuana?
AnswerThe main difference between Industrial Hemp and Marijuana plants lies in the amount of THC found in the plants. Both industrial hemp and marijuana plants are from the cannabis family. Marijuana plants have high levels of THC, giving that psychoactive “high” effect, and are illegal in most states. Industrial hemp plants have very low amounts of THC and high CBD content.
Question Will CBD oil cause me to fail a drug test?
AnswerJute CBD Oil contains 0.3% THC or less and will not get you high. These trace amounts of THC are very low and most work-place drug screen tests that target THC do not detect the presence of CBD. However, there are some rare unlikely circumstances that would cause CBD to be converted to THC in acidic conditions. While this is an extreme case that usually occurs under physiological conditions, there is a very small chance that THC could be detected. Jute offers a line of Broad Spectrum, 100% THC free products for those with a sensitivity to THC or who prefer to avoid that compound altogether.
Question How should I store my CBD? What is the shelf life?
AnswerFor best results, please store your Jute CBD products in a cool, dark place and avoid sitting in direct sunlight. This prevents loss of potency. Properly stored, CBD oil has about a 1 year shelf life.
Question Can CBD get me high?
AnswerNo, CBD oil will not get you high. CBD is a naturally occuring phytocannabinoid that is non-psychoactive. Our hemp-extracted CBD oils contain 0.3% THC or less and will not get you high. We also offer products with a Broad Spectrum and 100% THC free.
Question What are the benefits from using hemp?
AnswerThere are several benefits from using hemp. Hemp contains many essential vitamins, nutrients and fatty acids that are not produced naturally in the human body and must be consumed through diet. Recent studies supports CBD from hemp as a supplement for general well-being as it interacts with the human ECS system that regulates several systems of balance within the body including sleep, memory, anxiety and stress, immunity, etc. Hemp is also a highly renewal plant that grows quickly and nearly every part of the plant is useful in some form or fashion. Historically, hemp was one of the first plants every cultivated and is used for an estimated 25,000 different uses including food, fiber, building materials and fuel. Hemp is good for the soil and doesn’t require herbicides to thrive. This tremendously useful and health plant is eco-friendly and green from start to finish.

AnswerIn addition to the wealth of beneficial effects of CBD oils in the body, there are a few mild side effects to be aware of. CBD might cause drowsiness in some people, dry mouth, low blood pressure and/or light headedness.
Question How long until I see results with CBD Oil?
AnswerThe time it takes to see results with CBD oil differs depending on how it is taken, how much is taken and the individual person’s unique body chemistry and metabolism. Many people make the mistake of expecting a big change immediately, but best results are achieved with consistent use. CBD has to be absorbed into the bloodstream. You can take it orally, topically or sublingually and each method takes different routes to the bloodstream and is absorbed at different rates. Also depending on how much you take and how your body metabolises it will affect how long it takes to see results. To find the serving that works best for you, we recommend starting low and gradually increasing the amount of CBD oil per day until you reach the desired effect.

AnswerHow long CBD oil stays in your system depends on your unique body chemistry and metabolism; as well as, how much CBD oil is consumed.
Question What is the difference between full spectrum and isolate CBD oils?
AnswerThe difference between full spectrum and isolate CBD oils lies primarily in the number of cannabinoids found in the CBD oil. As the name indicates, isolate CBD oils contain pure, isolated cannabidiol (CBD). Full Spectrum, on the other hand, contains cannabinoids such as CBD, CBN, CBL and CBCVA; as well as, terpenes from the hemp plant. Both CBD isolate and full spectrum CBD are beneficial to overall wellness.
Question Can I take CBD oil with prescription medications?
AnswerIf you are on prescription medications, we recommend consulting with your physician before beginning any new health or dietary regimen, including CBD oil.
Question Can I travel with CBD?
AnswerEven though CBD is legal at the federal level in the United States, each state has their own regulations and restrictions on what is allowed. You also need to be aware of specific airport policies that may impact your trip. We recommend you check with TSA or the airport(s) you are using to confirm the most up-to-date regulations for traveling with CBD.
Question What is the entourage effect?
AnswerThe Entourage Effect is a scientific name for the synergistic effect of different cannabinoids, terpenes and flavonoids from the hemp plant as they worth together. When combined, these compounds interact with the ECS in the body to produce a stronger therapeutic effect than if you were to consume just one of the compounds alone.
Question Is it possible to overdose on CBD?
AnswerNo, it is not possible to overdose on CBD oils or products. In high doses, CBD may cause mood or anxiety swings, but it will not be lethal.

Question What method do you use for extraction?
AnswerOur primary focus at Jute Health is clean, safe, and efficient Supercritical CO2 extraction; proven to be the best and safest way to extract botanical compounds for products used around the world.

  • What is CO2 extraction, and why does it matter?
    • CO2 extraction is pressurized carbon dioxide. The alternative extraction technique is ethanol based extraction. The end result can oftentimes be residual solvents in the finished product. Co2 extraction while more expensive, is the cleanest and most effective extraction technique available.
The supercritical Co2 extraction used at Jute Health is ideal because it won’t cause denaturing or damage that would make it unfit for human consumption.

AnswerSublingually is one of the most readily absorbed methods for taking CBD oil tinctures. Place the oil directly under your tongue and hold for 30 – 60 seconds. The longer you can hold it there, usually the better it will absorb.
